About Us

The Mitchell Group founded more than 65 years ago, is a leading cosmeceutical company providing high quality and safe beauty innovations. We take pride in our products and the communities we serve.

Our philosophy is simple - all shades are beautiful.

Mitchell Group products target skin discoloration such as dark spots, dull skin, acne spots, uneven skin tone, dark circles, hyperpigmentation and hormonal discoloration. We condemn any form of discrimination and do not condone the use of our products to appear “whiter”.

Our entire product line has been clinically tested and follows United States FDA, Health Canada and EU Cosmetic Regulations, India FDA, Ghana FDA and Nigeria FDA regulations. The Mitchell Group is headquartered in Miami, FL and has offices in the United Kingdom and Mumbai, India. We distribute Fair & White, named after the last names of its two founders, a skin lightening product intended to correct dark spots, dark circles and hormonal discoloration, and the Yelen brands, which specializes in skin brightening.

We have laboratories in the United States, Switzerland and France that continuously deliver cutting-edge formulas which are rigorously tested in clinical and laboratory trials to ensure product effectiveness and safety.

We take the safety of our products very seriously; we do not condone any misuse. Counterfeit producers will be prosecuted to the full extent of the law.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Q: How can I purchase Mitchell Brand products containing hydroquinone in Canada?

A: Canada requires a New Drug Number (NDN) or Drug Identification Number (DIN) for over-the-counter products. As a company, we made the decision to not pursue an NDN or DIN for our products in Canada. Therefore, The Mitchell Group does not ship any products containing hydroquinone to Canada. However, we do ship products to Canada that are regulated under the Canada Health Cosmetic Notifications Form and these do not contain hydroquinone.

Q: How can I purchase Mitchell Brand products containing hydroquinone in The United States?

A: The United States allows up to 2% hydroquinone in over-the-counter products. The maximum amount of hydroquinone included in our products is 1.9%. You can find our products at the following partners online or in-store at:

Amazon

Walmart

Q: Is hydroquinone banned in some countries?

A: Hydroquinone is available by prescription-only throughout the EU and not available in over-the-counter products.

Hydroquinone has been sold since the 1800’s.  Both Health Canada and the US FDA considered restricting its use and decided not to ban the ingredient but rather regulate it. Concerns related to hydroquinone went through the proper review process and it was decided that the benefits in treating discoloration and conditions such as melasma cannot be replaced or substituted.

These findings were made public after it came up for review in the early 2000’s in the United States and thousands of dermatologists opposed the proposed restriction of hydroquinone by signing petitions and submitting them to the FDA, with their supporting clinical studies and recommendations.

Q: I have severely uneven skin tone and dark spots. Should I mix your products or add other ingredients for a more effective result?

A: Absolutely not. Mitchell Group products should be used only as directed on our packaging. If you have an issue that our products cannot solve, then we suggest seeing a licensed dermatologist.

Q: How can I be sure I’m not buying a counterfeit product?

A: The best way to ensure you are buying safe, authentic products produced by the Mitchell Group is by purchasing solely through the locations listed on this site.

Q: What is Hydroquinone?

A: Hydroquinone is a skin-lightening agent, which can be helpful when treating different forms of hyperpigmentation.

Q: Are there any alternatives to hydroquinone?

A: While hydroquinone is used specifically to target melasma, there are many active ingredients that help brighten the skin. Alpha arbutin, tyrostat, turmeric and others that aid in brightening the skin are found on our website under the ingredient section.

Q: Do you only focus on skin lightening products?

A: No, we have a broad range of beauty products that include Aleppo soaps, 100% raw Shea Butters, African Black Soap and hair care products as well.

Q: I hear Mercury can sometimes be found in these products, is that true?

A: None of our products contain mercury. We have laboratories in the United States, Switzerland and France that continuously deliver cutting-edge formulas, which are rigorously tested in clinical and laboratory trials to ensure product effectiveness and safety.

Q: How should I use your products?

A: All of our packaging includes directions for use. In general, when using natural products like Shea Butter, apply generously and as often as needed. When using products with lightening or brightening ingredients like hydroquinone or alpha arbutin, it’s best to use them for no longer than five consecutive months, once a day at night only. During the day it’s very important to use proper sun protection to prevent further darkening of spots. After five months of use we recommend taking a break of at least two-three months before starting again.
